About me
I founded Northern Skies Creation to draw together my work as a writer, educator and consultant. After a career working in international education, I transitioned into freelance writing to align my work more closely with the things I’m passionate about: story-telling, learning and advocating for the environment.
I now write across a range of areas, from children’s environmental literature to curriculum resources and editorial content for ethical business.
My academic research, which culminated in a PhD, explores how literature can be used to raise awareness and to serve as a healing tool in the face of climate anxiety. Alongside my creative work, I’m proud to be the Enquiries Secretary for The Ted Hughes Society, and a member of the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Pedagogy.
At the heart of everything I do is a belief that words can inspire change and hope for the future.
